Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree for a four-year accredited college or university.
- Meet criteria for or hold a valid TN License
- Valid Tennessee teaching certificate with endorsement(s) in appropriate area.
- Able to follow the class schedule and implement grade level lesson plans
- Previous teaching experience is a plus

Job Overview

Job Functions
- Planning lessons on the Spanish language and culture in accordance with students' learning objectives.
- Preparing the classroom by gathering and setting up equipment.
- Conducts and maintains a highly organized and professionally functioning classroom.
- Maintains ongoing curriculum evaluation and development to meet the needs of students.
- Collaborates with other faculty in the delivery of appropriate instructional approaches.
- Implements curriculum and instruction in a manner consistent with TN State standards including understanding, modeling and encouragement of independent thinking skills, creative problem solving and abstract reasoning.
- Shows empathy and understanding of students.
- Proactively resolves problems that might arise with students and parents.
- Facilitates parent/student/teacher conferences.
- Continues professional development.
- Follows policies established by the Maury County Public School Board and Tennessee State Department of Education.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements/Skills
- Candidates should have a passion for teaching.
- Fluency in oral and written Spanish language.
- Strong content knowledge in all relevant areas as well as background, beyond the language, in cultural traditions and history of the Spanish-speaking world.
- The ability to teach language through communication, culture, connections, comparison, and communities.
- Creative, energetic, and positive approach to teaching.
- Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive classroom community and to working actively to introduce students to diverse cultures, experiences, and perspectives
